Q&A: Marley Elementary Student Olivia Acosta

Olivia Acosta, 6, recently was recognized as a Good Citizen in her kindergarten class at Marley.

Patch caught up with kindergartner Olivia Acosta—who celebrated her sixth birthday last week—as she ate lunch with in December after being named a Good Citizen for the month of November. Teachers select two students each month who are recognized for positive attitude, respectfulness and stellar behavior with their classmates and themselves.

Patch stopped her to ask .

Glen Burnie Patch: What is your favorite thing about school?
Olivia: I like recess. I like the monkey bars and scooters. And I like math, gym and lunch.

Glen Burnie Patch: What is your favorite food?
Olivia: My favorite food is tacos ... and pizza.

Glen Burnie Patch: What is something you learned recently?
Olivia: I learned about Christopher Columbus. He bumped into America and other people were there before Columbus.

Glen Burnie Patch: What's your favorite thing to do when you're not at school?
Olivia: I like to go ice skating with my family.

Glen Burnie Patch: What do you like about being recognized as a Good Citizen?
Olivia: I'm happy. I've never [had my picture up on the wall in the hallway] before. And all the other Good Citizens will be up there.
