Q&A: Marley Elementary Teacher Gina Ward
Patch crashed Pasadena resident Gina Ward's lunch break at Marley Elementary on Monday to chat with her about being a second-grade teacher at the Glen Burnie school.

Patch caught up with School teacher Gina Ward on Monday as she ate lunch.
We stopped her to ask five questions ...
Glen Burnie Patch: How long have you been teaching?
Gina Ward: Six years ... I've taught first, second and fourth grade.

Glen Burnie Patch: What made you decide to become a teacher?
Ward: I always really enjoyed working with children. Since a young age, I knew I wanted to make a difference in the world and I feel like you can do that through children.
Glen Burnie Patch: How did you choose to teach at the elementary level?
Ward: I always felt like they are still in the state where you can influence them and their values and have an impact on them.

Glen Burnie Patch: Where did you go to high school? College? What degree do you hold?
Ward: I went to for high school [in Pasadena]. And I went to Stevenson University [and received a degree in] early childhood education.
Glen Burnie Patch: When you have free time, what do you like to do?
Ward: Spend time with my friends and family. Watch sports—like ice hockey. I'm a huge Washington Capitals fan.
