GLEN BURNIE, MD -- A motorist traveling northbound on Route 295 had a nerve-wracking noontime drive June 19 when he was the victim of a road rage incident. The victim was driving a dark gray Jeep Cherokee when Thomas Edward Scott, 26, of Hanover, Penn., became enraged at the victim while driving his dark red Ford Mustang.

Scott pointed a handgun at the victim who called 911 and reported the incident, which occurred south of Route 197 in Prince George's County. Troopers from the Glen Burnie Barrack responded to the incident and located the Ford Mustang headed westbound on I-695 at Nursery Road in Anne Arundel County. Troopers conducted a traffic stop and a probable cause search of the Mustang produced a loaded black BB handgun stowed underneath the front passenger seat.

Officers seized the handgun and arrested Scott, charging him with first and second degree assault, and reckless endangerment. Scott was arrested without incident and transported to Upper Marlboro Central Booking in Prince George's County for an initial appearance.
