Route 100 Ramp Reopens—Again

The ramp from Ritchie Highway south onto Route 100 west was closed again last week as crews continue to work on repairing a sinkhole caused by Tropical Storm Lee in September.

After closing again briefly last week, the ramp from Ritchie Highway south to Route 100 west in Glen Burnie reopened Wednesday afternoon, according to the Maryland Gazette.

After closing in September when Tropical Storm Lee left a sinkhole, the ramp quietly reopened in mid-December. But State Highway Administration (SHA) closed the ramp again last week so crews could continue to work on the repairs, according to the Gazette.

In January, SHA announced that they were slated to receive $1 million to use for repair costs of the Route 100 on-ramp from the Federal Highway Administration’s Emergency Relief Program to help cover the costs to repair roads and bridges damaged during Tropical Storm Lee.
