Superintendent Unveils $192M Capital Budget

Thirteen schools in the budget are prioritized for construction projects in the next fiscal year.

Anne Arundel County's Schools Superintendent Mamie Perkins lifted the veil Wednesday on the fiscal year 2014-2015 capital budget—weighing in at $192.1 million.

The amount is $55 million less than the one approved for the current fiscal  year by the Anne Arundel County Council in June.

Of the two school system budgets, the capital budget mostly consists of construction projects. The operating budget, which includes teacher salaries, is normally unveiled in December.
