Suspect In Dumpster Rape Case Arrested: Police
A 31-year-old Glen Burnie man has been arrested in relation to a rape that occurred last week in a parking lot by dumpsters, police say.
GLEN BURNIE, MD — A 31-year-old Glen Burnie man has been arrested in relation to a rape reported by a woman who said she was assaulted last week in the 6300 block of Ritchie Highway. The woman told Anne Arundel County police officers that she had arranged a ride and was picked up by a man in the 800 block of Elkridge Landing Rd., Linthicum. The man drove her to Ritchie Highway and circled around a parking lot then stopped by dumpsters. He pulled the woman from the vehicle and behind the dumpsters.
A witness who saw the man drag the woman from the vehicle and behind the dumpsters told a hotel lobby clerk to call 911, according to a police report. The man was armed with a knife, the woman said. She was sexually assaulted and had personal items taken. After the assault, she ran into the hotel lobby for help.
On Monday, Anne Arundel County detectives charged Aaron Anthony Cepeda with first- and second-degree rape, third- and fourth-degree sex offenses, first- and second-degree assault, dangerous weapons with intent to injure, armed robbery/robbery, and perverted practice.

Members of the Anne Arundel County Fugitive Apprehension Team located the suspect vehicle and as surveillance was being conducted, Cepeda left an apartment and went to climb into his car. He was taken into custody without incident. Multiple search warrants were executed on his vehicle, residence and person. Several items of evidentiary value were recovered linking him to the sexual assault/robbery, according to the police department.
