United Way Awards Arundel House of Hope, Salvation Army

Two Glen Burnie organizations recently received grants from the United Way for having impact on the community.

The United Way of Central Maryland (UWCM) recently announced that two Glen Burnie organizations received grant money for having an impact on the community.

The Arundel House of Hope Day & Resource Center and Medical Clinic and the Salvation Army of Greater Baltimore each received $25,000 from United Way, according to a UWCM press release. They were two of 14 Anne Arundel County organizations to receive a total of $426,000 from United Way.

Arundel House of Hope works to help homeless men and women throughout Anne Arundel County. The Greater Baltimore Area Salvation Army supports the Glen Burnie Boys and Girls Club.

"These grants serve to get Anne Arundel County residents out of crisis and stabilize them, with the ultimate goal of helping all families and individuals lead self-sufficient lives," according to the press release.

The grant program awards organizations that work to address "basic human needs," according to the release.
