Van With 5 Children Inside Stolen From Giant Food In Glen Burnie

A van with five children inside was stolen from a Giant Food store in Glen Burnie. The children were dropped off but the van is missing.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A van with five children inside was stolen Monday from a Giant Food store in Glen Burnie. The children were dropped off in the city, but the van and its driver are still missing.

The theft was reported at 10:54 p.m. at the Giant Food store at 6636 Ritchie Highway. The caller said a man stole his gray Honda Odyssey van and drove off with their five children in the vehicle.

Officers searched the area for the car thief with help from the police helicopter.

A few minutes into the search a caller told police he located unattended children near Ordnance Road and Route 10 in Glen Burnie. Officers recovered the children at the scene.

The stolen 2000 gray Honda Odyssey with a Maryland tag 2EP9754, was not located. The van has damage to its front and rear.

The suspect is described as an older Black man, bald, no facial hair, wearing all black clothing.
