Police Say Teen 'Victim' Stabbed on Bike Trail Was Actually Robber

A teen was charged as an adult with armed robbery, robbery, first- and second-degree assault and theft.

Police said they have charged a 17-year-old as an adult after determining his story of being a stabbing victim failed to include that he was robbing someone else who fought back. The incident occurred on the Baltimore Annapolis Bike Trail in Glen Burnie on Thursday, police said.

Anne Arundel County police responded just before 7 p.m. Thursday to the 7800 block of Winbourne Drive for a reported stabbing. A teen boy suffering from a stab wound in his shoulder told police someone tried to rob him earlier on the Baltimore Annapolis Bike Trail.

Police said the teen, who had a pocket knife, was uncooperative during the interview. He was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center to receive treatment for the stab wound.
