What's the Status of Marley Fire Station?

Though construction looks near complete, the doors won't open for another month, fire officials said.

If you've driven down Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard over the past couple of months, you've probably noticed the new looks near complete.

At least I have, since I live in the neighborhood.

So I gave the Anne Arundel County Fire Department a call to find out what was going on.

It turns out that while it looks like it could open its doors today, there is still some work to be done on the interior of the building.

Fire spokesman Chief Michael Cox said they have set a ribbon cutting for 10 a.m. on July 25, with more details to be released soon.

The county broke ground on the station in October 2010 to replace the current building, which is nearly 70 years old.
