2020 Election: Milford Voter Turnout Hit New High

MILFORD, MA — Milford voters set new records in 2020 compared to other recent presidential elections, including the highest turnout dating back to 2004, according to ballot data.

A total of 78.27 percent of Milford's 14,657 registered voters cast a ballot in the 2020 presidential election, beating the previous record set in the 2008 election between Barack Obama and John McCain.

Also in 2020, the share of votes for a Democratic presidential candidate was the highest since 2004 — and the lowest for a Republican candidate.

Between 2016 and 2020, the GOP share of votes for president shrunk from by a hair from 37.88 percent to about 37.76 percent, according to turnout data.

On the other side, 59.30 percent of votes went to Biden — the closest a Democratic candidate has come to earning 60 percent of the town's vote dating back to 2004. The Democratic trough was seen in 2016, when only 53.31 percent of the vote went to Hillary Clinton.
