3 Arrested After Chaotic Milford Smoke Shop Robbery

Two men from Milford and one from Waltham were charged this week following the Feb. 28 incident.

MILFORD, MA — Milford and state police concluded a months-long investigation into a February armed robbery this week, arresting and charging three local men.

Milford police arrested Akeem Marzouca, of Waltham, and Quentin Waters-Orr and David Abrego, both of Milford, and charged them with armed robbery while masked, possession of a gun during a felony, unlawful carrying of a gun and two counts each of larceny under $1,200.

Police said they used "several investigative techniques" to identify the suspects after the chaotic robbery that left a bystander injured.

According to police, the robbers hit Jay's Smoke Shop in the Big Y shopping plaza along Medway Road near 8 p.m. on Feb. 28. Two of the men were carrying guns when they demanded a clerk hand over cash.

The men fled in a car, and then ran a red light at Birch Street, colliding with another vehicle in the intersection.

A Milford officer was in the area and watched as three men got out of the car and ran. Police from Uxbridge, Hopkinton, Medway and Holliston helped search for the men for several hours, but did not make any arrests that night.

The bystander involved in the collision at Birch Street was taken to Milford Hospital for treatment.
