5 Things You Need to Know Today: June 3

The town has to make room for all the concerned residents expected to attend a meeting tonight about the casino.

1. A new flock of Scarlet Hawks has flown off into the world beyond Milford High. Congratulations to the class of 2013, which graduated yesterday. See our photo gallery here, and lists of scholarships and awards here.

2. Milford selectmen will hear a presentation tonight from Foxwoods Massachusetts. Foxwoods is expected to present details of its plans for a casino in town. To accommodate what is anticipated to be a large crowd, the meeting has been moved from its normal location at Town Hall to the Milford High School auditorium.

4. Milford High baseball defeated Hopkinton, 3-1, in the first round of the playoffs this weekend. The Scarlet Hawks (14-7) move on to face top-seed Nauset (16-4) in the quarterfinals tonight at 7 at Eldredge Field in Orleans. See ESPN for coverage of Saturday's game.
