Dirty Utensils, Food On the Floor: Milford's Health Inspections

MILFORD, MA—The following inspection notes were supplied by the Milford Board of Health:

• Wendy’s 128 Cedar St. 6-27-18 Violations here include the following. No paper towel at the hand sink, need a visible thermometer for the single door Turbo freezer, clean exterior metal edge of the ice machine and the inside white plastic shield inside the ice machine needs to be cleaned, paper towel dispenser in both restrooms need to work.
• Tradesman 284 West St. 6-9-18 Violations here include the following. Clean the metal splash guard between the char broiler and the fryers, clean the four burner stove top, bag of flour cannot be stored on the floor and the bag has to be closed, clean the grill of the small household fan, do not store ice scoops in the ice at the bar area, floor area at the bar needs to be cleaned underneath the equipment, and remove whatever that wooden structure that has three junk draws in it and clean all around it. A re-inspection is scheduled. Re-inspected 6-28-18 and found violations corrected.
• The Exotic Foods 53 Sumner St. 6-25-18 No violations here.
• Sam’s Energy 267 Main St. 6-25-18 No violations here.
• Southside Pizza Bar & Grill 146 S. Main St. 7-6-18 Need additional visible thermometers and clean the 4 burner stove top , and the floor needs additional repair in various locations.
• Wanokura 194 West St. 7-13-18 Violation here include the following. Need a visible thermometer inside the large chest freezer, need a safer more sanitary method of storing what appears to be a large cutting surface stored next to the chest freezer, need to clean grouting between stainless steel wall and the back of the three bay sink, do not store cutting boards between the prep sink faucet and the wall (may be in fact time for a new cutting board), clean the floor and piping behind the main line, uncovered seafood product in the walk in cooler, clean the floor area next to employee hand sink, wood table and rack system used to store equipment and utensils needs to be cleaned, keep back of customer service clean and better organized. Re-inspection scheduled. Re-inspect 7-20-18 and found violations corrected. Violation remained open included was to continue cleaning the floor and piping behind the main line replace wooden and wire rack system used to store utensils and condiments (this will be replaced by a stainless steel table which the owner has and has to assemble it) and to continue maintain the rear of the customer service area.
• Tokyo Japanese Steak House 121 Depot St. 7-16-18 Violation here include the following. Ice cream chest freezer needs defrosting and a visible thermometer found or installed, hand sink dirty needs cleaning and sanitizing, 4 burner stove needs to be scrubbed clean, wok station could be cleaner esp. during quiet times, small storage area needs better care with food products stored off the floor bags closed containers labeled floor swept, Black and Decker toaster oven needs a though cleaning, and do not cover foods in the walk in cooler with cloth. A re-inspection is scheduled. Re-inspected 7-23-18 and found violations corrected.
• 19th Golf & Grill 350 E. Main St. 7-19-18 Violations here include the need to clean the interior including the doors of the convection oven, and clean 8 burner stove top esp. the burner wells.
• Bread Bowl Café 7-18-18 319.5 Main St. No violations here.
• Lucky 9 119 E. Main St. 7-13-18 Violations here include the following. Prep-sink and/or the hand sink leaks in the vicinity of the elbow, clean the exterior of the microwave oven and toaster oven, bar area could be better maintained/organized.
• 5 Guys 9 Medway Rd. 7-18-18 Need additional staff certified in CPR
• Cantino Goyana 163 main St. 7-23-18 in the two back storage areas too much clutter being cleaned out during this inspection, uncovered meant product in the walk in cooler needs to be covered (internal Temp 36 degrees)must be covered, eggs cannot be stored on the floor in this same walk in cooler, 12 burner stove top needs to be scrubbed clean, and need paper towel for the hand sink next to the customer service counter.
• Genesis Health Care 10 Vet. Mem Drive 7-23-18 Chef is to wear an effective hair restraint when working with food, and no paper towel in the dispenser for the hand sink across from the wear washing area,
• Burger King 22 Beaver St. 7-20-18 Do not store the ice scoop in the ice machine, and need some additional visible thermometers.
• Bills Pizza 126 Main St. 7-9-18 Violations here include the following. Back storage room needs to be brought back under control has been a lot better, need visible thermometers for both chest freezers, clean and disinfect the restroom toilet, clean or replace the microwave oven, do not cover the missing bowl for the floor mixer until it is clean and shines, entire floor area where the three bay sink is located needs to be cleaned. Re-inspected and found violations corrected.
• Kindercare 235 Congress St. 7-26-18 need to clean the interior of the oven, and need to clean the housing and bracket and the bit for the manual can opener.
• A Step in Time 195 West St. 7-25-18 Time to properly finish off the small storage room off the kitchen, clean interior of the Amana stove (scheduled to be replaced with a new one), clean interior of microwave oven, and defrost the woods stand alone freezer.
• Countryside Health Care 1 Countryside Drive 7-25-18 Clean interiors of both ovens.
