Mario Vaz, Owner of Casa Nova Market, Dies at 47

Mario M. Vaz, 47, of Milford, passed away Feb. 4, 2016 at his home. He was the husband of Theresa (Rua) Vaz for the past 16 years. He was born in Cervos, Portugal, son of the late Amandio and Ana (Moutinho) Vaz and lived in Milford most of his life. He was educated in the Milford public schools.

Mario proudly took over the family business, Casa Nova Market on Central St., after the passing of his father in 2008 up until late 2013. He grew up helping his parents run the business and was very proud of their accomplishments.

In addition to his wife he is survived by one son Cody Vaz of Milford, one daughter, Tyana Vaz , her boyfriend Patrick Motuzas of Milford, one brother Jose Moutinho of Hubbardston, two sisters Maria Vaz and her husband Pedro Martell of Whitinsville, Natalia “Nelly” Marques and her husband Jose Marques of Milford, three godchildren, Antonio Rua, Kristopher Moutinho and Adriana Marques, nine other nieces and nephews and four great nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Thursday, February, 11, 2016 at 9 A.M. from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St Milford Ma. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. at the St. Mary of the Assumption Church on Winter St.
Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery on Cedar St. in Milford.
Calling hours are Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M.
