Massachusetts Weather Forecast: Monday Commute Threatened by Icy Conditions
The next 24 hours will see rain, and in some areas a dangerous amount of ice on the roads.
Spring hasn't quite yet sprung, and there could be blunt reminders of that throughout Sunday into Monday. Wet and sometimes icy weather is expected across the state within the next 24 hours, hampering many morning commuters.
Bouts of rain will make its way through Massachusetts between Sunday and Monday afternoon, but Central and Western Massachusetts are at the greatest risk - the National Weather Service issued a freezing rain advisory in effect from midnight to Monday at 8 a.m.

Some "spotty light precipitation" will make its way across the state from the west, extending the bouts of annoying drizzles we've been enduring. The Merrimack Valley and west of Boston are also susceptible to icy morning roads.
