May at Milford Youth Center
See important dates coming up at the Milford Youth Center this May.
In May, the Milford Youth Center will be continuing with our weekly Extended Day program. The program will run from 2:15-5pm for kids ages 8-18 who reside in Milford and/or attend Milford Public Schools. Due to the guidelines from the CDC and local Board of Health, this program will have limited enrollment to allow for cohorts and social distancing. The program will take place in two main forms that must be selected at the time of registration:
· Open gym time for students in grades 6-12
· Structured activity with free time in the game room and other spaces for students in grades 3-8. (Structured activities include but are not limited to: crafts, nutrition, gardening, STEM, movie day, fishing with Bob Gilmore, and fitness programs like HIIT with Carly)!

All program offerings will be following all CDC and Board of Health Guidelines at all times. Safety is our top priority!
All those who wish to attend the Extended Day program MUST be pre-registered. Children will be required to stay in the same stable group for a week at a time and because of this, we will only be offering 5-day enrollment options. The weekly fee for the extended day program is $50 (financial assistance available). Once registered, a MYC staff will be in contact to confirm enrollment. If a waitlist is created due to limited space, Milford Youth Center will contact families in the order of enrollment date, as space becomes available.

In addition to daily programming, the Center will also offer free snack and dinner, thanks to the collaboration of CACFP, Hockomock Area YMCA and the Milford School Food and Nutrition Services department. We are also able to offer weekend take home meals for all children in the household. We continue to offer our Grab & Go program for past and present members of the Youth Center
Unfortunately, we cannot provide transportation from the schools at this time. We hope that this is something that we can accomplish in collaboration with the schools in the future. We have encouraged families in the past to try to figure out carpools, if that is an option that families are comfortable with.
Thanks to the outreach of support from our volunteers, staff, Milford TV, and our other community members we have been able to continue to offer virtual programs on our Facebook page, the Milford TV app for your phone and/or on the Milford TV local access channel! You now can participate in some of our short virtual tutorials, crafts, activity ideas and other programs right from home. You can also check out any previous programming here!
