Milford Brush To Table Reveal Coming In July
Eleven artist-designed picnic tables will be unveiled in the Milford Cultural Council's first public art initiative.
MILFORD, MA — The Milford Cultural Council will hold a celebration event at Plains Park in July to unveil artist-designed picnic tables that came from the council's first public art initiative.
The July 24 event will feature food, music and all 11 public art pieces on display. After the celebration, the picnic tables will be sent to different locations around Milford, where the public will get to use them.
The artists earlier this spring entered the Brush to Table contest, which was an effort by the Milford Cultural Council's Public Art Subcommittee, the Milford Parks Department and the Milford Highway Department. The cultural council started the subcommittee last year to increase public art in Milford.

"We are entirely grateful and delighted to see this public art initiative come to fruition for the town of Milford," Cultural Council Chair Geri Eddins said in a news release. "The collaboration of so many wonderful people is really what this initiative is about. What started as an idea, blossomed into something that the community will be able to enjoy for a long time. Milford deserves this beautification."
The July 24 event at Plains Park will run from noon to 3 p.m.
