Milford Closing Town Hall Amid Worsening Pandemic

MILFORD, MA — Milford is closing the Town Hall to public access beginning Monday amid a worsening pandemic situation.

This is the second time Milford has closed the Town Hall since the coronavirus pandemic began last spring. The building reopened at the end of July for appointments, but did encourage residents to continue to conduct business remotely.

Coronavirus cases began rising sharply this fall, and has grown increasingly worse in Milford in recent weeks.

On Thursday, the state Department of Public Health reported Milford was adding close to 60 new cases per day per 100,000 people, and the town-wide positive test rate was nearly 10 percent. Milford added 245 new cases over the last two weeks alone.

The new Town Hall closure will last until further notice. Residents can conduct business like paying taxes and applying for birth and death certificates on the town website.
