Milford High School Recognized Nationally By Special Olympics

"Milford High School and the Milford Public Schools pride themselves on being positive and inclusive environments."

MILFORD, MA—Milford High School was recently declared an official Special Olympics national banner Unified Champion School by Special Olympics International, one of only ten in Massachusetts and 131 schools in the country to achieve this for the school year.

A Special Olympics Unified Champion School "has an inclusive school climate and exudes a sense of collaboration, engagement and respect for all members of the student body and staff. A Unified Champion School receiving national banner recognition is one that has demonstrated commitment to inclusion by meeting ten national standards of excellence."

“Milford High School and the Milford Public Schools pride themselves on being positive and inclusive environments,” said Dr. Kevin McIntyre, superintendent of schools, in a statement. “Programs like the Special Olympics and Unified Sports benefit everyone in the community and highlight what a special place Milford truly is. I am proud of our faculty, coaches, volunteers, and students who make Unified Sports and Special Olympics come alive at Milford High School every day and we are very appreciative of this honor from the Special Olympics.”
