Milford to Hold Homeless Veterans Drive Through Tuesday

A special drive to benefit homeless veterans will be held in Milford this weekend.
Hope for Heroes will be collecting the following such items to donate to homeless veterans through Tuesday, Nov. 11, which is Veterans Day:

- Sweaters, turtlenecks, thermal underwear, belts of all sizes
- Functional computers and/or software
- Gift cards to supermarkets, drug stores or department stores
- Toiletry items (shampoo, shaving cream, razors, etc.)
- Pillows, pillow cases, blankets, sheets for twin beds
- Gently-worn male/female business clothing (for job interviews)
- Wool knit hats, scarves and gloves
- Disposable diapers
- Bras
- Padlocks
- Gift wrap and supplies
Donations can be dropped off at the Milford Nissan location, 320 East Main St. in Milford, during the following times:
- Friday, Nov. 7: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
- Saturday, Nov. 8: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. (WMRC Radio will broadcast live between 10 a.m. and noon)
- Sunday, Nov. 9: 12-5 p.m.
- Monday, Nov. 10: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
- Tuesday, Nov. 11 (Veteran’s Day): 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. (Chef Barry Keefe will provide free breakfast sandwiches to donors between 8 and 11 a.m.)
