Milford Man Charged With Raping Child: ICE Wants Him Detained

Jaime Martin Guaman-Pomavilla allegedly lured a 12-year-old from her home, raped her, and then told her it would be "OK."

MILFORD, MA—A man who lives in Milford is facing charges that he coaxed a young girl from her home after meeting her on social media and then raped her, according to reports.

Jaime Martin Guaman-Pomavilla, 27, Water Street, Milford was arraigned on Friday, charged with the rape of a child with force and indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, reports MetroWest Daily News.

Guaman-Pomavilla, according to a police investigation, lured the 12-year-old girl from her home and knew of her because he worked with her family member. The victim said she met a man on Facebook in September.

His bail, which Guaman-Pomavilla hadn't made by Friday, was set at $25,000 cash or $250,000 surety.

The Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has requested that Guaman-Pomavilla be kept in the Worcester County House of Corrections because he is Ecuadorian and in the U.S. illegally, a spokesperson from ICE told the Boston Herald.

According to court documents, the victim tried to block Guaman-Pomavilla and rebuff him several times, but he eventually talked her into meeting him, after which he raped her at his home, reports the Herald. The incident occurred on Sept. 6.
