Milford Police Arrest Man Charged Over Ax Threats
The 49-year-old was hospitalized after a Sept. 30 incident when he threatened people with an ax for the second time in a year, police said.

MILFORD, MA — Milford police formally arrested a 49-year-old town man on Wednesday after an incident last week when he threatened his neighbors with an ax, according to police.
William Bennett was hospitalized following the Sept. 30 incident, and was arrested Wednesday at Milford Regional Medical Center on charges of disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct, six counts of threatening to commit a crime, two counts of intimidating a witness and resisting arrest, according to Milford police.
This is the second time within a year Bennett has been arrested and charged after threatening people with an ax, according to police.

Last October, Bennett threatened people at a house party along Franklin Street with a hatchet, according to police. In this latest incident, he threatened his neighbors from the porch of his Walnut Street home, and tried to light an outdoor fire, police said.
