Milford Police, DEA Will Hold Drug Takeback Day In April
The annual event allows local residents to dispose of unwanted prescription medications.

MILFORD, MA — An annual spring drug take back event is coming to Milford in April.
On April 24, Milford police and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration will open a collection site at the senior center, 60 North Bow St. Citizens will be able to dispose of any unwanted prescription drugs safely.
Milford police say the event isn't just about convenience, it's also about public safety.

"Medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse and abuse," a Milford police press release said. "Rates of prescription drug abuse in the U.S. are alarmingly high, as are the number of accidental poisonings and overdoses due to these drugs."
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 24, according to the department.
