Milford Police: Signs Removed from Polling Location in Milford

Tuesday, Nov. 4

At 6:39 a.m., Milford police removed four signs within 150 feet of a polling location at the Italian Veterans building.

At 7:01 a.m., police responded to a minor two-car accident involving a vehicle that hit another parked car.

At 7:22 a.m., police responded to a report of a low-hanging wire on Purchase Street.

At 7:40 a.m., a property owner at the Italian Veterans building requested the removal of a political sign, which was placed on the side of the building.

At 8:52 a.m., a caller reported that a landscaping crew had been blowing leaves and trash into the brook on Gibbon Avenue. Officers spoke with the crew and determined that only a few leaves had been blown into the brook nearby.

At 10 a.m., a caller reported someone had tried to apply for a credit card in her deceased husband’s name.

At 11:35 a.m., a caller reported they had found a needle in the parking lot of the Royal Buddha on Depot Street.

At 12:13 p.m., a caller reported wires had been taken down by a construction crew on Short Street and a pole had been going to a house on the road.

At 3:21 p.m. a caller requested to speak with an officer in regards to a past larceny from his motor vehicle during the previous week.

At 5:15 p.m., several callers reported an accident in the area of West Fountain street and Highland Street. One vehicle was towed from the scene.

At 5:25 p.m., a caller reported a man called him and said he was a fire inspector, and that he would be at his home the following day at 4 p.m.

At 5:33 p.m., police received a report of a missing person from a group home on West Street. The missing man was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue jeans and had been gone for about four hours before reported missing. Officers investigated and checked several local venues but were unable to find the man.

At 6:29 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on South High Street involving possible injuries.

At 6:50 p.m., security at Milford Hospital reported a fight in progress involving two men coming out of the ER waiting area. Officers issued a summons to two Milford men for disturbing the peace.
