Milford Remains In Coronavirus Red Zone

MILFORD, MA — Milford remained on the state's list of red "high-risk" communities on Thursday after a continued rise in coronavirus cases.

As of Thursday, Milford was adding 33.4 new cases per day per 100,000 people; the town's positive test rate was 5.85 percent. On April 1, new cases were at 30.4 per day and the positive test rate was 5.16 percent.

To drop off the high-risk list, Milford's positive test rate would need to fall below 5 percent.

Nearby, Blackstone and Hopedale were also on the state's high-risk list, according to the Department of Public Health. There were 77 communities across the state on the list, up from the 55 reported April 1.

The state's overall positive test rate fell to 2.29 percent from 2.60 percent on April 1.
