Milford's Longtime Treasurer Resigns for New Job

Milford Town Treasurer Barbara Auger, who has held her position for 16 years and was just re-elected to another term, is leaving for another job.

Auger has accepted the treasurer's job in Taunton, WMRC Daily News reported Friday.

Her last day in Milford will be June 21, according to WMRC.

Auger had just been re-elected in Milford in the April Town Election; she defeated challenger Michael Soares. Auger, a lifelong Milford resident, captured 78 percent of the vote.

Earlier this year, Auger was one of five finalists for Milford town administrator.
