Milford Swim School Reopening This Weekend

The Goldfish Swim School is reopening as coronavirus slows, while the town pool remains closed for the season.

MILFORD, MA — The Goldfish Swim School in Milford plans to reopen this weekend, meanwhile the town's Fino Field Pool has been closed for the season due to the pandemic.

Like many businesses, the Goldfish school, 350 East Main St., closed as coronavirus began to rise in the area. The school is reopening with a focus on swimming safety as families seek outdoor refuge from the pandemic at lakes and beaches.

"For now, we are so grateful to welcome back our members, both existing and new, as we are able to safely reopen during the summer months as water safety will become more important than ever," owner Tobey Kelly said in a news release.

The school is also instituting safety guidelines for workers and students. Anyone with coronavirus symptoms, or who has been exposed, will be asked not to come to the building, including staff. The school will also check temperatures at the door, and require face masks for anyone in the building (but not while swimming).

The school will also follow social distancing rules, and offer sanitizing stations throughout the school.
