Milford Will Get Taste Of Worcester Ice Cream Startup

Mrs. Moriconi's Ice Cream is making a push into MetroWest with a monthly event.

MILFORD, MA — Every day is a great day for ice cream — and soon that'll be especially true in Milford on the first day of each month.

Worcester ice cream startup Mrs. Moriconi's is bringing its artisan frozen treats to Milford for the first time on Friday. The ice cream will be on sale outside the MyFM 101.3 studios downtown, part of a series of Mrs. Moriconi's sales that will be held on the first Friday of each month.

Mrs. Moriconi's was founded by pastry chef Julia Moriconi last summer. She typically only sells her treats on Saturdays at the Sprinkler Factory space in Worcester — and spots in Leominster and Shrewsbury — alongside other local food startups like Doh! Girl and KrafTea Kombucha.

Moriconi makes more than a dozen flavors at a farm in Dunstable, including the Italian classic stracciatella. She also got recently won awards from the National Ice Cream Retailers Association for her vanilla and chocolate flavors. Moriconi swears by using Jersey style cow's milk for its creamy texture.

The ice cream event will be held 4 to 6 p.m. every first Friday at MyFM 101.3, 258 Main St., Milford.
