Milford's 33rd Santa Parade Set For December

One of the biggest Santa Claus parades in Massachusetts will kick off in Milford on Thanksgiving weekend.

MILFORD, MA — One of the biggest Santa Claus celebrations in Massachusetts will be held the weekend after Thanksgiving this year. The 33rd annual Milford Santa Claus parade features floats and fire trucks from dozens of local cities and towns.

The 2019 Milford Santa Claus parade will be on Dec. 1 from 4 to 6 p.m., and is sponsored every year by the Milford Firefighters Association.

"The town of Milford welcomes Santa Claus with one of the largest parades in Central Massachusetts. This is a long tradition of decorative floats and fire trucks parading through town. Organizations from all over the state participate in the parade, including local sports teams and cheerleaders, local restaurants, social clubs, and fire trucks from nearly 40 different communities," the town said in a press release about the event.

The event in past years has attracted upward of 25,000 people, making it one of Milford's biggest annual events. Hundreds of different fire trucks participate in the parade decked out in ornate Christmas lights.
