Milford's Hazardous Waste Collection Pulls in 6,500 Lbs. of Materials
More than 200 pounds of medical sharps were also dropped off.

Close to 100 residents from Milford dropped off more than 6,500 pounds of household hazardous waste materials during the town’s collection event last weekend, officials said.
Moreover, 225 pounds of medical sharps waste were also dropped off at the collection, which took place on Saturday, Nov. 1.

The weight, though, did not include paint that was collected at the transfer facility on the same day. Sutton-based New England Disposal Technologies assisted the Milford Board of Health with the collection event.
“Even with the inclement weather, there was a constant flow of residents participating at this event,” Health Officer Paul A. Mazzuchelli said in a statement.

The board of health holds the collection annually to allow for convenient drop-off of such “hard to dispose” materials.
