MYC Event Raises Money To Send Sick Member On Trip

A Halloween-themed Milford Youth Center event brought in money for a member fighting a brain tumor.

More than 75 youth donned costumes and helped raise money for a friend by attending the first “Find Yourself Friday” Halloween Youth Dance at the Milford Youth Center on Friday, Oct. 24.

The event, held at the Middle School East gymnasium, featured music, snacks and drinks for sale, and prizes for the best costume, according to a post on the MYC website. All the proceeds from the event went toward purchasing a giftcard to Great Wolf Lodge for Madi Proper and her family. Proper is a Milford Youth Center/Juvenile Advocacy Group member who is battling a brain tumor.

“Due to [Proper’s] positive attitude and courage, we all thought she deserved to enjoy herself, once she has completely recovered from her recent brain surgery!” reads the post on the website.
