New District Director for Sen. Richard Moore, Planning Board to Discuss School Zoning
Here are five things to know to help inform your day.

1. Timothy J. Harvey of Blackstone has joined the staff of Senate President Pro Tempore Richard T. Moore, (D-Uxbridge), as district director.
Harvey, a veteran of the war in Afghanistan, was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal in 2012 for outstanding service and commitment, as well as a personal accolade from his commanding officer for demonstrating superior leadership, Moore stated. “Tim brings his outstanding marketing and management skills, his demonstrated leadership, and an inspiring personality to the position of district director." As District Director, Mr. Harvey will work closely with local officials, senior centers, students, and businesses in the Worcester and Norfolk senatorial district which includes Milford and 13 other towns.
2. The Milford Planning Board will hold a public hearing Tuesday on a proposed revision to zoning that would allow public school buildings, including Woodland School's new project, to exceed the current height and setback limitations.
3. Community Impact on Thursday night will hold its first meeting of a Support Group for Siblings and Friends of Addicts. The meeting is at 8:30 p.m. From the announcement: "Addiction recovery is stronger when family members and friends are involved. Addiction is a disease that affects the entire family and communities."
4. Alateen will hold meetings each week at Milford Town Library on Wednesday afternoons. From the announcement: "Alateen is a fellowship of young Al-Anon members, usually teenagers, whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking. The purpose of Alateen is to share experiences, strength and hope, discuss difficulties, learn effective ways to cope with their problems, encourage one another, and help each other understand the principles of the al-anon program."
