These residents of Holliston, Hopkinton and Milford died in recent days.

Theodore E. Mitchell, 76, of Milford, died May 14 in the VA Hospital, West Roxbury. He was the husband of Joan J. (Narducci) Mitchell.

Teddy and his wife Joan were the owners and operators of the White Horse Sports Pub in Gloucester, RI for many years. They previously owned the former Milford Glass and the former Thermal Pane, both in Milford, for several years.

Teddy was born Feb. 27, 1937 in Hopedale, the son of the late Emery J. and Blanche I. (Jolette) Mitchell. He was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force as a firefighting paratrooper. 

Teddy was a member of the Italian American War Veterans Club, Post 40, the Dramatic Sportsmans Club, and the Marchegiano Club all in Milford. He loved to sing and was a well-known vocalist throughout the area.Â
Barbara E. Lechner, 60, of Hopkinton, died on May 10 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. Her passing followed a sudden and recent diagnosis of widespread cancer. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Dr. Edgar H.
Lechner and the late Evelyn (Kroemer) Lechner.

A Hopkinton resident for the past 10 years, Barbara was a graduate of Summit School/St. Paul Academy in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was also a graduate of the University of Minnesota where she received a BA degree and was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority. She received a Master's Degree in College Counseling at Northeastern University and was a long-term employee at both Northeastern and M.I.T.
Michael A. DeSalvia, Jr., 75, of Milford, MA died May 9 in Boston Radius Hospital. He was the son of the late Michael and Giovanina (Constantino) DeSalvia. 
Mr. DeSalvia was a lifelong resident of Milford, MA. He was a graduate of Milford High School and had served in the U.S. Army. He was employed by Draper Corporation in Hopedale, MA.

Barbara Mary Gomes, 73, of Worcester and formerly Holliston, died May 9. Born in Marlborough, she was the daughter of the
late Mary Elizabeth (Hurtt) and Joseph Gomes.


Barbara was a member of the Christ Tabernacle Apostolic Church in
Worcester. She is survived by her 4 children; Rebecca Ralston of Uxbridge, Mary Gomes of New Bedford, Douglas Ralston of Attleboro and Regina Ralston of New Hampshire. She also leaves behind 2 brothers, six grandchildren: Lateefah, Ry’Saun, Ty’Rese, Justin, Chantel, Alyssa, and 3 great-grandchildren. Barbara is predeceased by her sister Joyce Pina.Â
Maria A. Castro, 86, of Milford, died May 7, at the Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Bento A. Castro. She was born in Portugal, daughter of the late Francisco Lourenco and Maria Alves Cascais. Educated in Portugal, she moved to the U.S. in 1974.
