Obituary: Thomas Burbridge, 65, of Milford

Thomas J. Burbridge, 65, of Milford, formerly of Somerville, passed away suddenly on Monday, Dec. 8, 2014.

He is predeceased by parents Anne (Griffin) and Frederick and his dear brother John. He leaves his beloved daughter Caitlin, her husband Peter Thunfors of Northampton, and grandaughter Esme Thunfors, former wife Sarah Bachrach of Winthrop, brothers Fred and his wife Marianne of Newton, New Hampshire (formerly of Groveland), James and his wife Sigrid of Easton, Paul of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Chris and his fiancee Diane Boltz of Medford, sisters Elizabeth McGaffigan and her husband Paul of Arlington and Anne Marie Costanzo and her husband Anthony of Revere. He is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews and 11 grandnieces and grandnephews.

Tom was a longtime employee of the Polaroid Corporation and retiree of Gillette Manufacturing, South Boston. He was a decorated Army war veteran, serving his country proudly in the Vietnam War at the age of 19. Tom was an amazing father, brother, uncle and happy new grandfather. He had a passion for New England sports, especially the New England Patriots, and was an avid runner, who ran the Boston Marathon. He lived with love and lots of laughter.

At Tom’s request, services will be private including interment with Military Honors at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
