Sometimes life gets hectic and in the way. That doesn't mean we have to stop being kind to one another. Here are some things that make my day a little brighter. It's the little things that matter!
Next time you're in line at the store, you know that thing that separates orders? Try putting it up for the person behind you. Ya know, so they don't have to reach over your stuff and knock it down trying to reach for it.
Was your cashier/server extra nice and accommodating? Let their manager know! Too many customers are quick to complain and not so quick to compliment!

Next time you see an elderly or disabled person or anyone struggling with their groceries/purchases, help them load them in their car. Ask if they need help
Next time you're in line and have a ton of stuff ( this goes for groceries, in line for coffee, etc) if you have a ton of stuff and the person behind you only has one or two items, let them go ahead of you.

Next time you see a person counting out their change or see they are a few pennies short, pay for the difference! You'd be amazed at the smile it will bring to an all ready embarrassed patron
Hold the damn door open! This one blows my mind away. The amount of times I've had doors shut in my face by some uncaring patron is disturbing. I don't care if you are male or female, if you see someone coming, hold the door!.
PLEASE AND THANK YOU: The forgotten vocab!
See a car waiting to pull out for a few minutes, if it's safe to do so, let them go!
See a person waiting in a crosswalk with NO walk signal, again, if it's safe to do so, let them cross!
Have an elderly or disabled neighbor? How about mowing their lawn when you do your own or shoveling their walkway? Take care of your neighbors and they will take care of you.
Like to walk? Bring a trash bag with you and pick up some trash on your way. Bring gloves and don't pick up anything questionable.
Going to a place like Fino pool? Pay for a few kids to get in, make THEIR day!
See someone paying for their groceries with change or hear them struggle with the amount? If you have the means, even $20, help out!
Maybe it's because im so social or because I am more aware of my surroundings then most, but, a day doesn't go by when I don't see acts of kindness and acts of rudeness. Both touch me in different ways. Seeing the look on a recipients face when their struggles are noticed, it's a feeling you won't forget. Not everyone is accepting of help, but those that are, you will know the difference you just made. Giving new meaning to paying it forward. You don't have to pay for the person in front of you in drive thru..there are so many ways to pay it forward, you just have to have an open heart. You don't need money to be nice and to care either. This is how we keep our community a kind one, by caring and being a community. Taking care of others.
So many little things that don't take more then a minute to do, that can make a persons day! Anything I didn't post? Add it to the comments! Making a community better doesn't always have to mean sacrificing yourself. You can spread love in so many ways! Just one kind word or gesture can make a persons day! Be that person who spreads love not hate.
I chose a photo of the new Swan Family at Louisa Lake because I felt then represent what our community should be about. Family.
