Peter J. Vignone, WWII Vet, Construction Foreman, Dies at 92
Vignone grew up in Milford and worked in Framingham.

MILFORD, MA -- Peter J. Vignone, 92 , of Milford passed away early Sat. morning Jan. 23, 2016 in the Milford Regional Medical Center, Milford. He had most recently been a resident at the Countryside Health Care of Milford for the past 8 months. He was the husband of the late Hazel M. (Bowden) Vignone who died in 2015. They had been married for 67 years.
Peter was a construction foreman for A.J. Gemma in Framingham for many years before his retirement. He previously had worked at the former Draper Corporation in Hopedale and the GM Assembly Plant in Framingham.
He was born October 15, 1923 in Milford, the son of the late Pietro and Loretta (Niro) Vignone and was a graduate of Milford High School. Peter entered the US Army in 1943 during WW II and served in Central Europe and Northern France.
Peter was a devoted family man. He was a member of the Hopedale VFW Post and the former American Legion Post in Hopedale, Post # 267. He enjoyed fishing and dancing. Mr. & Mrs. Vignone were avid golfers.
He is survived by two sons, Peter E. and his wife Cheryl Vignone of Hopedale, and James J. and his wife Victoria Vignone of Milford; two daughters, Verna and her husband Brian McDonald of Hopedale and Elaine and her husband Robert Zagame of Northbridge; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Peter was predeceased by seven siblings.
Funeral services will be private.
A private burial with Full Military Honors will be held in Hopedale Village Cemetery, Hopedale.
