Police Log: Gas Tank Vandals, Tenant Squabbles

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. All arrests are reported. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Sunday, June 2

5:26 a.m.: A caller from the Purchase Street and Harris Avenue area said there was a gray Chevrolet Chevette driving around, smashing mailboxes and stealing flags from the area. Police responded and said there was only one flag at the corner of Harris and Purchase, and did not find any other damage, or the Chevette driver.

10:58 a.m.: A woman went to the Police Department and said she was threatened on Exchange Street by a man who sent his dog after her. Police spoke with the woman and her landlord, and all issues were settled.

12:56 p.m.: A woman from East Main Street said there used to be a donation bin in her yard, but it was no longer there and bags of items and furniture were still being left in her yard.

2:10 p.m.: A man from Highland Street requested an officer as he and his wife were fighting. He said it was only verbal but that it might change. Police responded and filed a report.

2:39 p.m.: A man dropped off a pink wallet that was found at Vernon Grove Cemetery. There was no ID in the wallet.

7:14 p.m.: A man went to the Police Department and reported he was threatened by his friend's mother while at work. Police determined no threats were made.

7:34 p.m.: State Police transferred a call to Milford, noting they had a female who yelled "he has my keys," and then hung up. The call originated from East Main Street. Police called back the woman, who was hysterical and said "he" broke my phone. Police said she was being uncooperative. The same woman went to the lobby and reported the same man had assaulted and harassed her. Police will be seeking a summons to charge Hunter F. Carroll, 33, of 55 E. Main St., Apt. 2, Milford, with indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or over and assault and battery.

9:41 p.m.: Police were flagged down by 7-Eleven in reference to a male trying to gain entry into several vehicles. He was described as in his 30s or 40s, wearing a green shirt, with glasses and short hair. Police were unable to locate the man.

10:13 p.m.: A woman called reporting she was stuck behind the gate at Storage Pros on Fortune Boulevard.

Monday, June 3

12:22 a.m.: Community Ambulance called and reported one of their ambulances swerved to avoid a dog and hit a parked car.

12:56 a.m.: A caller from Camp Street reported a vehicle crashed into the woods. Multiple units were looking for the operator. Police notified the Milford Regional Medical Center emergency room to be on the lookout for the operator. Police spoke to the vehicle owner's mother.

2:45 a.m.: A caller reported that an intoxicated male shoplifted from the gift shop at the Holiday Inn Express. The party in question returned the items and left before police arrived.

4:23 a.m.: A Shadowbrook Lane resident reported an intoxicated man attempted to make his way into her apartment; when she looked out he was lying on the floor in front of the door. Police responded and returned the man to his apartment.

11:05 a.m.: A Mazda 3 on Purchase Street had its windows smashed and something put in its gas tank.

11:30 a.m.: A woman from Mark Drive reported her Jeep was vandalized by someone pouring something into her gas tank. Twenty minutes later, a woman reported that this was the second time this has happened, and she wanted to file a report.
