On a daily basis, I drop off and pick up children at Stacey Middle School and Milford High. Normally, there is one Milford Police Department SUV parked out front of the High School, monotoring student drop off and pick up. Today? 4 Milford Police SUVs strategically placed through out the school grounds.

Message from MILFORD HIGH SCHOOL
A short while ago, numerous students reported receiving information about a potential security threat at Milford High School. Specifically, one of our students reported that another student had made a threat to "shoot up the school." We responded immediately by working with the Milford Police Department to bring extra officers to the building while we investigated the information. We were able to quickly determine that there is no credible threat.
We know that many students are alarmed and have begun contacting families. I just made an announcement to our students and staff informing them that there is no security threat in the building. We will be completing our school day as we normally do.
Respectfully,
Joshua Otlin, Principal

Last July I had the amazing opportunity to attend the Training of Milford's Special Forces Training. With the Board of Selectmens decision regarding Chief Tom O'Loughlin's contract and todays scare at the high school, Maybe we, as well as the Board of Selectmen, need to be reminded what Chief of Police O'loughlin has done to ensure our safety and the safety of our children while at school.
