Milford And Its Presence On Social Media

Bringing a community together with social media. Here's where you can meet, Milford.

When Social media sites first sprang up, they provided a chance for people to keep in touch, share their lives from the convenience of a laptop, phone etc. We lead busy lives and keeping in touch isn't always easy. Let alone keeping up to date with local news and events

While Milford does have its own website, the town of Milford itself is non existing on social media. Signing up for their email list will mean you get emails about meetings, agendas, minutes and so much more!

In an effort to bring residents closer and to inform, locals have created their own "Milford" groups on social media. You can find yard sale groups, parent groups and even political groups!

Local Politics

Last local elections, voter turnout was disturbingly low. Voters turned to these groups for more town and political news. When the Marijuana debacle was in full swing, again, residents looked to social media for advice, information and to see where others stood on the topic. An easy way to log on and ask members any questions you'd like and get almost immediate answers. With elections coming up in November, we have two, what should be close and interesting races. It would be nice to see a bigger voter turnout. One way Voters can get better informed on candidates and where they stand is through social media and local groups and pages. In a small town like Milford, gossip spreads and sometimes it is hard to tell fact from fiction. Social media groups provide a forum for others who otherwise wouldn't interact, a chance to ask questions, post and comment on just about anything!

Groups and pages aren't just for political and town news. You can also find events, advice on services, yard sale, PTO and even groups to buy and sell. So much is offered, if you just know where to look.
