Stephen Jionzo, Milford Native, Top Salesman, Dies At 79
Jionzo was a car enthusiast, an Army National Guard veteran, top salesman and husband. Services are this week.

MILFORD, MA—Obituary via Edwards Memorial Funeral Home. Mr. Stephen A. Jionzo, 79, of Milford MA, died Sunday (April 8, 2018) at the Milford Regional Medical Center after an illness. He was the beloved husband of Joanne E. (Manzella) Jionzo.
Mr. Jionzo was born in Milford MA, the son of the late Stephen and the late Mary A. (Shaughnessy) Jionzo. He attended the former St. Mary’s grammar school and was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1956.
Mr. Jionzo had been a very successful sales representative at Avery-Dennison Manufacturing for thirty-eight years, receiving numerous sales awards. He later was employed as a sales representative at Wetzell Sales Associates. Later, during his retirement years, he was employed as a salesman at Imperial Cars, for thirteen years.

Mr. Jionzo had served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard as a young man and was a longtime member of the Milford Lions Club, recently receiving his “forty year pin”. Stephen had a longtime love affair with the “automobile”, and had been a member of the Cadillac-LaSalle Club & the Corvettes of America Club. He frequently attended car shows and cruise nights when ever possible. He also loved to travel and loved to snowmobile.
Along with his beloved wife of 53 years, Joanne, he is survived by his daughter: Jennifer S., wife of John Martins of Somerset MA; his grandson: Zachary Martins of Somerset MA; 2 sisters-in-law: Jean Jionzo of Milford MA and Susan, wife of Robert Smithell of Stoneham MA; also several nieces & nephews.

Mr. Jionzo was the brother of the late John L. Jionzo and the late Mary A. (Jionzo) Micelotti, wife of the late Joseph Micelotti.
Visiting hours will be held Friday (April 13th) from 5pm to 8pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. In accordance with his wishes cremation will follow and a private committal service will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Milford MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Oliva Family Cancer Comfort Fund, c/o the Milford Regional Healthcare Foundation, 14 Prospect Street, Milford MA 01757.
