WATCH: Milford Hawk Scores 1000th Point In Her B-Ball Career

MILFORD, MA—Milford Lady Hawks basketball captain Kate Irwin scored her 1,000 career point last week in a game against Norwood on Thursday, Jan. 25.

Peter Boucher, Milford's athletic director, said that while everyone was hopeful that Irwin would hit the 1,000 mark that night, they weren't 100 percent sure. She needed 32 to hit it and her high game score thus far had been 28.

She brought down the house when she did hit that milestone, becoming only the second female to do so. The last person at Milford to score 1,000 was Tyler Washington in 2007. Jenna Macci, who as in the gym watching Irwin's game, was the only other female at Milford to hit 1,000.

Irwin is hoping to play college basketball, but hasn't committed to a school just yet.
