Winners Picked In Milford Picnic Table Project Contest
The Milford Cultural Council launched the outdoor art project this spring, seeking artists to design picnic tables for public use.
MILFORD, MA — Eleven local artists have been picked to design picnic tables that will be placed in public places around Milford this summer.
The artists entered the Brush 2 Table contest earlier this spring, which was an effort by the Milford Cultural Council's Public Art Subcommittee, the Milford Parks Department and the Milford Highway Department. The cultural council recently began the subcommittee to increase public art in Milford.
The winning artists were notified on May 1, and they will now get to work on the tables ahead of an outdoor exhibit set for July 24 at Plains Park. After the exhibit, the tables will be scattered around Milford for public use. You'll be able to find them later this summer at locations like Rosenfeld Park and the fields at Milford High School.
