1.7K+ Hazlet Households Without Power Wednesday Morning
The outage is not storm-related, but was instead caused by a vehicle pulling down wires. Here's when power is expected to be restored.
HAZLET, NJ - Over 1,771 Hazlet Township residents were left without power Wednesday morning as this week’s heat wave continues to boil the Garden State.
On Wednesday morning at around 11 a.m., Hazlet Township issued a statement noting that the morning outage is not storm related, but was instead caused by a non-JCP&L vehicle pulling down utility wires.
At 8 a.m., the utility reported that 597 Hazlet customers were without power due to lightning damage from Tuesday night’s storm.

The power authority estimates restoration to be completed by 3 p.m.
The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for Monmouth County through Wednesday night due to hot temperatures and high humidity. Temperatures could reach as high as 102 degrees, the agency said. Read more: Severe Thunderstorm Watch, Heat Advisory Issued For Most Of NJ
