110 Roads Included In Hazlet Long Term Works Project

Hazlet Township has pinpointed over 100 roads to restore as part of a major works project. View a map of the identified roads here:

HAZLET, NJ – After road surface restoration repairs were postponed for over a year due to inclement weather, more than five trafficked roadways in Hazlet will get a makeover this year from grant funding. Roads already benefiting from the program include Fleetwood Drive, Winthrop Place and South Laurel Avenue.

All existing municipal roads in Hazlet have been evaluated under rigid conditions rated under nationally recognized standards, according to a statement from the Hazlet municipal website. The township has since pinpointed 110 municipal roads to include in a long term road restoration project.

Each roach section, divided into work zones A through K, will be revised as part of the ongoing effort. Residents can access a map of identified roads (PDF) within proposed restoration zones.

“This evaluation work is done by T&M Engineers and a Roadbotics analysis program. T&M performs field analyses of roadways and Roadbotics provides a digital analysis of all roads in ten-foot intervals using newer technology with artificial intelligence. The field inspection results and digital data collected are combined with existing data to prioritize continued road work,” the statement reads.

Below are several roads set to undergo construction in the near future, alongside the grant money to back each project:
