3,000 Without Power In Holmdel, Hazlet Wednesday Morning: JCP&L
JCP&L is currently addressing power outages affecting thousands of customers in the Holmdel-Hazlet area and beyond.
HOLMDEL, NJ - JCP&L is currently addressing power outages affecting thousands of customers in the Holmdel-Hazlet area as of Wednesday morning, officials said.
According to JCP&L’s power outage map, 2,351 Hazlet customers (around 31 percent of the utility's customers in Hazlet) are affected as of 10:50 a.m.
981, or 13.8 percent of Holmdel customers, are also affected. Repairs are expected to be completed by Wednesday at 1 p.m., according to the JCP&L website.

“ JCP&L is addressing an outage of approximately 3,300 customers in Holmdel and Hazlet,” Holmdel Township tweeted at 10:36 a.m. on Wednesday. “For additional information and updates, please visit: https://firstenergycorp.com/jersey_central_power_light.html."
The outage was caused by Mylar balloons making contact with JCP&L equipment, the township confirmed.

A handful of customers in Colts Neck, Aberdeen, Eatontown, Howell, Keansburg, Keyport, Marlboro, Matawan, Union Beach and Middletown were also affected. I
Those who are experiencing power outages can report it to the utility by calling 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877) or visiting www.firstenergycorp.com) and clicking the "Report Outage" link.
As of 1:09 p.m., power has been restored to most areas.
