After 3-Year Delay, Hazlet Chick-fil-A Starts Construction
Following 3 years of scrambling for approval, a 5,000-square-foot Chick-fil-A dining complex has started construction in Hazlet.

HAZLET, NJ – Chicken fans, rejoice: the proposed Hazlet Chick-fil-A location has finally started construction this week. The new fast food site, located on Route 35 next to the Hazlet Cinemark 12 Theater, saw construction vehicles roaming the area on July 27.
While officials from the township recently approved a construction permit to Chick-fil-A, onsite construction was delayed for years due to a company issue in receiving all necessary approvals.
Hazlet’s land use board approved a 5,151-square-foot location in February 2017. The board issued a one-year extension for the project in 2019.
