
Charles G. Morrison, 90, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Care One in Holmdel.
He was born in Schenectady on August 6, 1921 to Glenn and Elizabeth Morrison. Raised in California and New Jersey, he graduated from Verona High School.
He was an active alumnus of Cornell University, where he earned his BSEE, and he earned an MSEE from Stevens Institute of Technology.

He served during WWII in the Pacific Theater with the US Army Signal Corps.
He later joined the Bell System and worked as an electrical engineer for 43 years in NYC, Murray Hill, and chiefly Holmdel.

He was instrumental in developing touch tone technology and held 4 patents.
He was also committed to community service, winning awards for his inspirational Boy Scout leadership and for his pivotal contributions to the Holmdel Environmental Commission.
During his 44 years as a member of the Lincroft Presbyterian Church, he served as both an elder and a deacon.
He and his wife built a camp in the Adirondacks, where they enjoyed many years of hiking, canoeing, and skiing. Their greatest joy was to climb a high peak and look down at the lands below.
Predeceased by his parents and his brother, Robert. He is survived by Anne, his devoted wife of almost 64 years; sons Charles Jr.; Douglas and John; respective daughters-in-law Carol, Stephanie, and Catherine; 9 grandchildren; his sister; Jean Merriman; and 8 nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been made with the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.
A memorial service is planned for 11 am on Saturday, October 29 at the Lincroft Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lincroft Presbyterian.
