DWI Behind Two Hit-And-Run Collisions In Holmdel, Hazlet: Cops

An intoxicated driver was allegedly behind two separate hit-and-run incidents on Tuesday night in Holmdel and Hazlet, authorities said.

HOLMDEL, NJ - An intoxicated driver was reportedly behind two separate hit-and-run incidents in the Bayshore area, authorities said.

In an early morning Facebook post on Wednesday, Holmdel police noted that the first incident, which occurred in Hazlet near the Holmdel border, was reported around 9:48 p.m. on April 27. Patrols located the suspect vehicle - which was operating on three wheels - on Holmdel Road near Rt. 520.

The operator of the vehicle was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. It was not immediately clear whether the driver is a resident of the area.

During the first investigation, another motor vehicle crash was reported on Holmdel Road near Holmdel Cemetery in which a vehicle was struck and ran off the road.

“It was later confirmed that the accused vehicle was responsible for this crash as well,” Holmdel police wrote. “Thankfully, no one was seriously injured during the course of these events.”
