Free Transportation To Vaccine Sites In Monmouth County

While there are over 25 operating COVID-19 vaccination sites in Monmouth County, some area residents simply aren't able to get there.

MONMOUTH COUNTY - While there are over 25 operating COVID-19 vaccination sites in Monmouth County, some area residents simply aren’t able to secure the transportation necessary to get a shot in the arm.

The Monmouth County Division of Transportation recently unveiled a program to offer free transportation to seniors and residents with disabilities who have a scheduled COVID-19 vaccination appointment.

To be eligible for the service, residents must:

  • Have confirmed vaccine appointment
  • Be 60 years old or older or over 18 years old and disabled
  • All trips must be scheduled through the Monmouth County Division of Transportation

Transportation is only available during normal operating hours.

To register for a trip, call the Monmouth County Division of Transportation at (732)-431-6480 and select option 1.

Earlier this month, the governor announced that several groups will be eligible for the vaccine later in March. This includes educators, day care workers, clergy members, restaurant workers and more: More NJ COVID Vaccine Expansion: Clergy, Food Workers

Gov. Phil Murphy also confirmed this month that shipments of the coronavirus vaccine were to be received at Rite Aid and CVS locations. Other vaccination sites around Monmouth County include Wegmans, ShopRite, Stop and Shop, Walmart and Sam’s Club.
